Will mutual funds help to build a large retirement corpus?

Must read

I am a moderate investor. I am investing in SBI Blue Chip Fund and Franklin India Focused Equity Fund. I want to invest another Rs 5,000 per month in Mirae Asset Emerging Bluechip Fund and Parag Parikh Flexi cap Fund for at least 25-30 years. Will it help me to build a sizeable retirement corpus?

The current toppers or favourites need not remain the same after 10 or 15 years. So you have to regularly monitor your investments to make sure that they are performing average or above average. Also, an investment of Rs 10,000 every month will not be enough to take care of your retirement corpus. You should find out how much money you would need every month after retirement and then put together an investment plan to generate that income. Work with real numbers and a rate of inflation to reach a realistic target. Mirae Asset Emerging Bluechip Fund is a large and mid-cap scheme. It has to mandatorily invest around 35% in mid-cap stocks. The scheme is suitable for aggressive investors.
