Aadhaar card holders can update their details by submitting proof of address or identity. This exercise can be done at least once every decade to keep the Aadhaar database updated, according to a report by the Economic Times.

Mandatory biometric update charges

The assistance paid to registrars (following in-house model): Rs 100

Fee collected from resident by service provider: Free of cost

Other biometric updates (with or without demographic updates)

Do remember that it is not mandatory to update your Aadhaar.

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has recently said in a statement, “Some news reports have incorrectly reported on Thursday that updating Aadhar Card every 10 years has been made mandatory. The recently issued gazette notification also clearly mentions that residents ‘may’ do so on completion of every 10 years.”
