Zomato was already in talks about is IPO, converting itself into public company and online rattles. The food tech company has now announced and introduced a new feature “priority delivery” in its app that is focused on delivering goods and foods to people facing covid-19 emergencies.
Zomato took it their social media platforms to introduce its feature that mentioned their request of not misusing the feature.
Zomato has got immense support from thousands of restaurants and food joints to deliver such orders as priority above any other order.
Zomato CEO, Mr. Deepender Goyal tweeted “”Today, along with thousands of our restaurant partners, we just rolled out a ‘priority delivery for covid emergencies’ feature on the Zomato app. This feature will allow our customers to mark *This order is related to a COVID-19 emergency* option during checkout (sic),”
“All deliveries to such customers will be contactless by default to ensure the safety of our riders, and subsequent customers. Needless to say, all customers should opt in for contactless deliveries right now,” he added.
Goyal also thanked the “thousands of restaurants” who have partnered with Zomato and agreed to prioritise the ‘COVID-19 emergency’ orders in their kitchens.
